3 Things To Keep In Mind About Furniture

There are a few things that we've learnt that could help you when you want to get new furniture. Here we go.

1. Practicality. I'll keep this one short and sweet. It's really simple and straightforward. Ask yourself this question, "How will this impact my space." I know it's a bit of a broad question but if the piece of furniture is going to take away from the flow of your room or if it will be large and not add much when it comes to seating, then it might not be the answer. Buying furniture that is multi-functional, like a coffee table with storage underneath. I, personally, enjoy seating that could be used in more than one space and doesn't need to be in one specific corner to look good in the area. This leads to my second point.

2. Shop your house. I love the idea of using things from one room to make another space better. For example, if you've got a bench or occasional chair in your study room that could complement your lounge a bit better as well as solve the fact that you need more seating in your lounge then do that. Move the chair and problem solved. Start looking at what you have at your disposal as a way to solve design/spacing problems. I know there's something you can use that will make the difference you want.

3. Comfort and Material. Above all, comfort should take priority over design. If the couch looks good but is awful to use, you've unfortunately missed the mark. Comfort comes down to the foam the manufacturer used as well as the material. If you are someone that likes softer fabric as opposed to something more rigid, then get that. Find the combination that you are happy with. There's no point in buying a couch with white linen material and you are too scared for guests to sit on it in the event that some food or drinks are accidentally spilt.

Let us know your thoughts, is there something we missed or something you consider when you are buying furniture? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
